Inspection & auction sheet translation

Every candidate vehicle has its auction sheet translated and its grade, mileage and repair history explained before you commit.

The auction sheet is the single most useful document when buying a Japanese car. It records the overall grade (usually from R for repaired up to 5 or S for near-new), the interior grade, the mileage and a diagram showing every scratch, dent and repaint.

We translate the full sheet for you, explain the grading and highlight anything that might matter — from a small bumper scuff to a replaced panel. Where we have any doubt we ask for additional photographs or an independent inspection before bidding.

Grades explained

  • Grade 5 / S — almost new condition, very low mileage.
  • Grade 4.5 — excellent, only minor cosmetic marks.
  • Grade 4 — good condition with light wear.
  • Grade 3.5 — average, some visible marks that may need attention.
  • Grade R / RA — previously repaired after accident damage.

We generally only recommend vehicles graded 4 and above.
